Full Service Wedding and Event Design

in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia

When you love flowers as much as Ferdinand, every event is an opportunity to touch, smell, play, and create.

Throughout my life, I’ve had a wide variety of jobs and hobbies. My sister (who really should be a life coach) once told me that the common thread was “making things pretty”, and my introduction to flowers gave me a whole new medium!

My years at the farm gave me an appreciation for each exquisite bloom I’d worked so hard to bring to life. My favorite farm task was harvesting for a wedding — choosing the prettiest blossoms for the bride’s bouquet, thinking about how a particular branch would drape perfectly over the arbor, and foraging in the meadows for the textural bits that make an exciting boutonniere or flower crown.

My style is informed by the beauty of this region’s gardens, farms, and forests. Locally-grown flowers and greenery form the core of Ferdinand’s designs, giving each event a look unique to its season. Roses, orchids, and other luxe and exotic blooms complete the picture.

Through years of floral experience ranging from farm weddings to retail floral to freelancing for other event designers, I’ve gathered a myriad of ideas and techniques for making your vision come to life, from the tiniest of flower crowns to large-scale installations for the ceremony or reception.

Each event is also an opportunity to collaborate.

We’ll start with your ideas, but it’s OK if you don’t have any, Ferdinand has plenty!

A Pinterest board or similar gallery is a great way to convey your style and taste, and through discussion we’ll figure out how to marry your vision, your budget, and the distinctive properties of your venue to create a stunning and unique floral design.
